Cole walks back to the pretzel store with the broken handcuffs still on his wrists. Wendell is still working behind the counter but Rosey and Lochlan are nowhere in sight.
Cole sits at one of the barstools and folds his hands on the counter, "I've had quite the day let me tell you what, anyways do you know anyone that knows me that would pay off the police?"
Wendell looks down at the broken cuffs and nervously laughs, "T-That I wouldn't know about."
Cole shrugs, "Alright, anyways I have a lead on who's in the tower I think it's some business Doberman guy that works for a supposed antique item warehouse called Warren’s."
Wendell seems to have a more nervous look in his eyes as he takes off a set of oven mitts, "Yeah yeah. That. That sounds like a lead." His ring seems to be missing.
Cole looks concerned as he glances at his hands, "Where's the ring you had on this morning?"
"Huh?" He looks down at his hands and pauses before quickly patting down his sides, "Oh fuck."
Cole sighs as he starts fiddling with the handcuffs in an attempt to get them off, "In my experience, it usually falls off when washing dishes, putting on gloves and washing your hands so I'd say to check the sinks, the floor and maybe the ovens."
Wendell quickly checks the mittens he just had on but with no luck, "I could have sworn I had it on not too long ago."
Cole looks around the ground where he can see, "It's important to stay calm, panicking can cause rapid eye flicking causing you to lose sight in what you're looking for."
Wendell mumbles a bit, "Easy for you to say..." He speaks up again and huffs, "Last I remember I was checking it was still there after preparing the new plates."
Cole starts looking on the counters, "Might be on a counter then if you took it off, granted it could be in a p trap."
Wendell tilts his head, "P trap?"
Cole sighs, "The pipe under the sink that looks funny, it holds a little bit of water and prevents sewer gasses from rising into the drain and sometimes it prevents items from being washed into the sewer."
He shakes his head, "I haven't used any sinks between now and then."
Cole nods then pauses for a moment, "Did you have the ring on when you handed Lochlan her food?"
Wendell thinks, "...I think so?"
Cole taps his fingers against the counter for a moment, "Do you have cameras you can check? I'm not saying she stole it but it could help us figure out where you last had it."
"Uh yeah I do." He sets the oven mitts down and hastefully heads to the backroom.
Cole rips the cuffs off with ease and puts them in his pockets, hoping Wendell wasn't looking at the cameras when that happened.
There's a long pause as Wendell is checking the cameras. Eventually he steps out and looks bewildered, "That little shit took my ring."
Cole shakes his head, "Of course, you know where she might've gone?"
"No clue. That was the first time I ever spoke to her. Though I don't know if I've mentioned it but I've seen her around Rosey before."
Cole raises an eyebrow, "You know where Rosey lives? She might have it."
"Yeah actually. She recently moved to a bigger apartment down on Myer Street. I saw cutesy curtains on one of the windows on the second floor. It screams Rosey."
Cole gets off the barstool as he nods, "Wanna go see if she has it? I'm more than willing to help, hell I think my first day here I got stolen from."
Wendell grumbles as he takes the apron off and hangs it on a hook, "Yeah. Would rather get it back before it gets sold to some random guy."
Cole sighs as he shakes his head, "And from what I can infer it would be for crack money."
Wendell then walks up to the sign on the door and flips it to the lunch break side, "That's if she even gave it to her."
Cole shrugs, "It's worth a shot honestly, if she doesn't have it I'm sure she knows where Lochlan is or at least if she has some kind of home."
Wendell sighs, "I hope." He steps outside and holds the door open for Cole.
Cole heads outside and smiles, "Thanks." He then looks for a street sign that points to Myer street.
